The Ceremony
We will be married in the Greek Orthodox tradition. It is an ancient service, mostly chanted, that lasts about an hour, carried not by vows but by prayer and blessing. There is nothing you need to do or say. Simply be present with us for it.
There are a few beautiful moments to watch for. Our rings are blessed and exchanged. Then two crowns joined by a single ribbon, the stefana, are placed upon our heads. This crowning is the moment we become husband and wife, so keep your eyes on us then. Near the end, the priest leads us three times around the ceremonial table in the Dance of Isaiah, our first steps together as a married couple.

The reception is in Kontos Event Center, on the church grounds, so there is no need to drive between the ceremony and the celebration.
Attire
Formal attire.
Saint George is an Orthodox church, so during the ceremony we kindly ask that shoulders be covered. A wrap, shawl or jacket is perfect and can come off for the party.
Travel
Tampa International Airport (TPA) is the closest major airport, about forty-five minutes from the church.
We have reserved a block of rooms at The Hacienda, a restored 1920s hotel on the river in downtown New Port Richey, a short drive from the church.
